Recovery from Anger Addiction

You    have    reached    the    site    for    the    book    Recovery from    Anger    Addiction.     If    you    suffer    from    rages frequently   like   I   did   (to   say   nothing   of   what   our   loved ones   go   through),   this   book   is   meant   to   help   you.   I was   in   therapy   with   a   dozen   or   more   therapists,   went to   month   long   recovery   hospital   programs,   week   long and      weekend      workshops,      and      weekly      anger management   classes   trying   to   heal   my   relationships damaged   by   my   anger.   Nothing   helped.   Then   it   was pointed   out   to   me   that   I   had   been   living   a   “lifetime   of losses and pain,” and I broke down crying. The   short   answer   is   I   identified   those   losses   and   pain, and   then   I   grieved   the   pain   of   my   childhood,   and   all the   similar   instances   of   recurring   pain   in   adulthood, and   my   anger   quickly   left.   Now   I   can   truly   manage   my normal, healthy anger like normal folks. I   have   nothing   else   to   sell.   If   you   can   identify   and grieve   your   pain   without   the   book,   by   all   means   do so.    Grieving   your   pain   is   the   whole   secret. The   book   is to   help   you   in   identifying   your   own   pain   and   losses through     possible     similarities     to     my     story.     Once uncovered,    you    can    grieve    your    pain.    That    is    the catch--identifying   your   own   pain   and   losses,   which requires   critical   self-examination   and   great   courage to   uncover   your   past   and   what   was   done   to   you. There is   a   socially   mandated   set   of   rules   to   not   feel   your pain,   to   hide   or   avoid   it,   or   to   tough   it   out.   Pain   does not   go   away;   it   stays   deep   within   us.   It   can   cause many   maladies,   physical   and   emotional;   anger   is   only one. Grieving is the only way out.
